Learning Styles Questionnaire Honey and Mumford - At the end of the year 1970. Peter Honey and Alan Mumford have a research project in Chloride on strengthening the learning styles of each manager and is planning to develop their personal stories melengkapai manager. During their four years conducting research with a variety of methods for assessing the learning style but not seduai expectations. Eventually they find their own learning style in 1982 in the fall. Known as the learning style questionaire.

In this learning process there are some trends that are owned and practiced by individuals. These trends such as the desire to have the experience during the learning something, the tendency to induce return, the tendency to make conclusions and trends ensure implementation.

Honey and Mumford have the views on learning style was inspired by the view of Kolb. Where the famous Kolb four stages of learning, namely:  concrete experience phase, active experiences and reflective phase, conceptualization phase and active experimentation phase.

By Honey and Mumford there are 4 groups people learn that groups of activists, reflectors groups, group theoretical and pragmatic group.

How to Identify the learning style of students according honey and Mumford 
To know the learning styles of our students could use the questions that have been made by honey and Mumford. The questions are known by learning style questionaire. The second version of the questionnaire was designed to explore the community's learning style preferences. One questionnaire was conducted by inviting people to respond to the 80-item and the other for exactly half the number of items. Two versions each have advantages depending on your circumstances and needs of your learners.

Learning Styles Pragmatist - Since the first until today, the world of education is always open to the possibility of the educational implementation format that is ideal to address global problems. Many theories have been adopted to achieve these objectives. Including the pragmatic theory that tries to fill space and time, to contribute to finding the best solution in the world of education and human development itself. In accordance with the pragmatism proposed by Charles Sandre Peirce is that pragmatism is not just a theoretical science and studied only to philosophize and seek the truth alone, nor metaphysics because they never thought about the essence behind reality, but the concept of pragmatism is more likely at the level of practical knowledge for resolve problems faced by humans.

Along with the times is more remarkable, makes people to be smart in the face of adversity to achieve success. If one took a decision, then the consequences will greatly affect the future. That requires critical thinking and logical, and appropriate action in the event.
 
By contrast the life experience possessed by learners since childhood, make them learn to be careful in acting. It was in accordance with the views of Dewey, the human thinking is basically rooted in the experiences and move back toward the experiences. Humans will always move in earnest is always changing. If he is having trouble then he will soon face the difficulties and find a solution. That requires thinking activities that would change the previous state into the next state.


Dewey offers an educational concept that can make students ready for their future. According to Dewey, the school environment should be able to reflect the pattern of community or social environment, so that when children graduate from school, they can adapt to the society. Can be understood from the concept that education should be able to equip learners in accordance with the needs that exist in the social environment. So that later they can quickly adapt to the social environment and participate in socializing with people. 

To realize this concept in education, can be offered several methods in teaching at the school.  

The first method is in the form of problem-solving methods. By using this method, students will be exposed to a variety of situations and problems that challenge, according to the real life in the neighborhood. Learners will be honed capacity to think and be given complete freedom to solve problems according to capabilities. Educators or teachers only help learners to hone their skills in seeking a solution to the situation.
The second method is to learn while working, meaning that students will be equipped with the skills needed by the community, so that they will exist and be useful for their social environment. When they finish of education that have gone through, they are able to work with developing these skills or try to open up business opportunities for the community, so as to overcome the existing unemployment.


The third method, namely, the method of investigation and discovery. This means that learners are led to do a search and discovery of new things in personal and social life in accordance with its capabilities. After that, the students are guided to make an assessment in accordance with the values in society and can apply it to everyday life.

Teacher Interview Questions and Answers

I want to ask about something to you. If you get a call from school inviting you to interview for teacher job, what do you feel? Happy? Sad? or Scare? . . .

If your answer is "scare", I tell you never worry about that if you're well-prepared. Preparing for teacher interview is like studying for test. Just review comonly asked question then you will get a key for success in the interview.

Here's 3 Tips in Preparation for the teacher Interview :

1. Prepare a portfolio about your strengths as a teacher.
While many candidates teachers entering the interview room with empty- hands, those who have prepared portofolio ahead of time then they will have a profit-making than other interview participants. Keep in mind that a good portfolio will contain good lesson plans, evaluations, student work samples and others. Tell to the interviewer that you are a good teacher and a portfolio could be the proof.
 
2. Learn the interview question beforeand
Many of same questions are asked almost in every interview.  Learn the questions that often frequently arise in a previous interview and practice how to develop appropriate responses that would impress the panel. If you know the questions and plan your answers in advance, you will pass the interview stage easily and smoothly.

3. Knowing who will be on interview panel
Ask the parties will conduct the interview who will be on the interview panel. If you know the name and position of them, you can prepare an answer that can satisfy the interviewer. For example, if you know there will be a Writting Specialist on the interview commite, then you can give special attention to the writing strategy.

Don't sit around while you wait for the day of the interview! Below is a list of commonly asked teacher interview questions and how to answer these questions. 

1. Could you tell me about youself?
It will be the first question in almost every interview. Don't talk too much, just give a brief background in about three sentences. Tell them what you are college origin, what the teaching experience are and why you'd like this job.

2. Could you describe your standard phyloshopy
Don't tell the interviewer if whenever there is a troubled student you will send the kids to the principal's office, tell them that you are able to handle them in part dicipline problem on your own. Only students who have done a very serious behavioral problems that will be sent to the office.
 
Moreover, Tell them that you are strict teacher, but you do not yell. You have class rules are posted clearly on the wall. You adhere to the guidelines of school discipline. Also, emphasize that you will minimize discipline problems and will create very interesting lesson for students

3. How do you teach to the state standards?
For this question make sure the desciption of lesson plans in your portfolio have state standards and when they ask about them, pull out your lesson and show them close relationship between teaching and standards.

4. How do you communicate with parents?
Tell the interviewer you will create a parents newsletter that you sent to home every week. For grades 3 and up, you may require the student to have a assignement book that must be signed every night by parents. In this way, parents know what task are given. When there is a dicipline problem you call home and talk with parents.

The Ways To Become a Professional Teacher

Teaching is exciting profession, especially for those who want to empower others. As a good teacher don't just entering to the class and taking students through the school syllabus. Being teacher is like being another professional parents to the child. Keep in mind you will be dealing with different children with different value and behavior inthe classroom. So the teachers have to make difference in terms of children behavior. 

Handle The Students in The Best Way Possible
Teaching can make different scenarios for you. Why it can be happened? because when you are in the classroom, It is not always the same when dealing with upper grade children and lower grade children for that matter. This is because they are all at different growth stages. 


Each of the stages comes with its own challenges. Keep in mind to be a professional teacher, certainly you will need to know how to handle your students in the best way possible. It involves understanding and their age the challenges.

It is therefore important to know exactly how to handle such challenges. It can also be through working out techniques that bring in some understanding among students and you. When you understand your students, you will know how to handle them.

Be Approachable
You as a teacher should create an approachable with your students, although the teachers are created to be firm and serious. This is because some of the students go through a lot of problems either in the family settings or within the school. Certainly, their problems can directly affect their learning performance no matter how well you teach them. So in here a professional teacher is firm in the teaching field but also can be friendly with the students outside class. If it's done, your students will be happy and enjoy with you

 

Need you to know, approachable with students does not necessarily mean being friends with the students. It simply means making it known to the students that they can trust you with their issues. It makes it easy for them to resolve some worries greatly improving on their performance. They will also feel much better to know they have a confidant and an adviser through their difficult times in life. They actually will end up working harder to make an impression.

Classroom Management Engaging Students in Learning

A teacher should be able to manage a class well, otherwise the learning process will not be as expected. Therefore, required the capability to manage the classroom for a teacher. And the things that must be considered by a teacher in a classroom management is how to make a managed class can involve students, because the learning process that involves students will give a positive result for the learning process. Moreover, a student who participated actively in the learning process will gain experience in learning. So here the students not only write and listen but do other activities that require the students to take an active role, such as expressing opinions, asking and others.
However, the activities of managing the class is not easy, sometimes there are  things that makes the efforts of teachers in classroom management becomes a mess. Maybe it could be caused because the teachers are wrong in planning and also wrong in practice in class. Therefore, there must extra effort in this case.

Below I will explain how to manage the classroom so that students can take an active role in the learning process.

1. Make a model of learning which make students active.
When the learning process try to implement a learning model that makes the student take an active role in the classroom. Avoid one-way method of teaching, where the only teacher who speaks without an active role of students. One example of a learning model that more focus learning activity of students is jigsaw learning model. The learning model makes all students to active continuesly, because they are instructed to learn the material to share to other friends later.  

2. Do not be too serious during the learning process.
Avoid classroom atmosphere is too serious, it would make the students feel uncomfortable in class and bored in the learning process. Make fresh jokes that make students be happy to continue to learn. From my experience, when students get bored then they will tend to not want to take an active role because they think if they take an active role, the learning process will be long, they can think like that because on the other hand they want the learning process ends. 

3. Provide opportunities for students to argue and ask.
If a teacher only speaks without giving students the opportunity to speak, then the teacher has made a big mistake. By doing so, indirectly, the teacher asks the students to be quiet without effort and without active participation in the learning process. Therefore, as smart teachers, you should be able to take the time to explain and time for the students to speak or ask questions.

4. Keep the classroom atmosphere conducive.
With a conducive atmosphere, then the learning process will be easier to control. If not, then the learning process will not be optimal. Teachers will have difficulty as well as students, they will be difficult to take an active role in the classroom. One example, suppose that the atmosphere in the classroom is noisy. Then the teacher would certainly be difficult to explain to the students about the material being taught, because the teacher's voice is lost by the commotion. Likewise students, instead actively participate in the learning process but actually focused their attention on the noise that occurs in the classroom.

5. Give subtle warning to the student if the student does something which deviate.
Sometimes there are students who do not deserve in class, either when the teacher is explaining the material or not. If you find students like this, try you to admonished the students but not to hurt him. Because if their heart hurt, it will make the students don't like the teacher and finally the students will be lazy during the learning process and will tend to make the students become passive and do not want to participate actively in the learning process.

Classroom Management Disruptive Students

When a teacher teaches in the classroom will definitely meet a lot of students with a certain character. Where from all of these characters, there are not in accordance with the expectations of the teacher. Sometimes there is a very naughty boy even difficult to control, of course, this is very disturbing especially during the learning process. But in this case, we cannot fully blame the child. The child could be like it because some things, such as a broken home, left both parents and others.

As smart teachers, we should be able to outsmart the students like this. Find ways so that these students reduce or even stop the naughtiness without having to do a violence which resulted in the child's heart hurt. Most teachers when faced with a child like this, they become frustrated and finally yelling and scolding the child. Maybe it can stop the naughtiness of the child, but you need to know it will only work for a moment. After several days they will return to do the same.


Based on the information I get and also based on my opinion, below I will explain what should be done in the classroom at the time you face a student like this.

1. Stop saying word "naughty" to the child
Never say the word "naughty" to the child, it will only make the child becomes more acting. But for you who already say it, stop this word right now. Otherwise, starting from now make a approach with them so that the children becomes comfortable with you and they feel appreciated.

2. Take a seat in front of the class for the child
Try when you are faced with child like this, provide a seat to sit in front of the class. This is done not because the child often make a noise in the back, but it is done to make easier to interact with them at the same time to observe the child's behavior changes. Moreover, by placing it in front of it will motivate them.
 
3. Give confidence to work the test questions in front of the class
Give a trust to the child, if you create a questions and requires the student to work it in front. It certainly gives confidence and self-motivation in the child. So that will make the child aware and gave rise to a desire to be better than ever.

4. Give warning with subtle satire
When you see they make a mistake, do not scold and shout at them. You have to keep patience and admonish them well, one of which is the subtle satire. You can say, "This week you have a lot of progress, but why now do negative things again?" Or the like. This is done so that the child feels embarrass and aware. Finally, they correct his mistakes.

Classroom Accommodations for Students with ADHD

ADHD (Attention Depicit Hyperactivity Disorder) is distraction that attack human brain development. Everyone who suffer this desease will be hyperactive, implisif and hard focus in pay attention. These condition surely make a big effect in their life, especially for them who are still students. Predicted 3 - 5 percent school childhood suffer this desease.

 
Important to note, students suffering ADHD are feared getting crash in their school, especially at the learning time in classroom. Need special handling to resolve this problem. So education of the students will smoothly.

As a teacher, if you find students with ADHD you must be able to know the best ways so they can get materials well. Below will be explained some things that can you do if you face condition like that.

Seating :
  1. Seat the student with ADHD away from windows and door.
  2. Put seat right in front of your desk unless that would be distraction for the students.
  3. Seat in rows, with focus on the teacher.
Information Delivery :
  1. Give instruction one at a time, repeat as necessary.
  2. If possible, work on the most difficult materials early in the day
  3. Use Visual : Image, Chart dan Color
  4. Create an Outline that organize the informations as you deliver it.
Students Work :
  1. Create the test area free from distractions.
  2. Give worksheet and test with fewer items.
  3. Reduce time test.
  4. Give the best test for students with ADHD : orally atau filling in blanks
  5. Divide long-term projects into segments and create a goal into every segments
  6. Let the students do as much work as possible on computer.
  7. Accept late work and give partial credit for partial work.
They are a few ways that you can do when you find students with ADHD in your class, so that the students can comfortably to keep learning and can get achievement as much as possible. However, to get maximum results, there must be other support such as drug delivery and support of the family.

Today google classroom is available only for two types of gadgets, for android and iOS. However, it is enough to provide something useful to the world of education, considering both of these gadgets is almost possessed by the students and teachers of course. Tips to Be An Idol Teacher

Be an idol teacher maybe a dream for all teachers in the world. Be an idol teacher doesn't mean that he/she is top in school, you make a big mistake if you think like that. But here, need to know that the idol teacher is a teacher that can provide good experiences and inspirations to their students so with that they feel comportable with you. Let's try to remember when you still at school, Who was your idol teacher? How did they teach in front of class? Why did you like to his/him? You can answer these questions by yourself, Now you can take a lesson from them.



Here I have some tips for you about how to be an idol teacher, I take it from my experiences colaborated with other references.

1. Be a patient teacher
Patient is one of the many character from idol teacher. When you find stupid and naughty students don't ever to schold them. But you must be patient and search a best solution for this situation. If you are angry, naughty students usually scare but will do their mistake later. I don't know why it can be happened, but it's reallity. Maybe they need your input and referal, because they could have less attention from their family.

2. Be a humoris teacher
Students dislike the teacher who always serious, In their minds the teachers are always serious is cruel and grumpy. Well for avoid this condition, be a humoris teacher, give something that can be your students happy. Need to know here, if your students happy with you, it's good news. Usually the score of your students will increase after that.

3. Care your students
An idol teacher will do anything that can make their students comportable. One way is by take care their students. So if you want to be a idol teacher do it. Based my experience, a student who have problem tend to be quiet. It's sad and we have to do anything, don't let his/her adolescence bess.

4. Listen your students
There are many things found in class. Every student usually reveals a new idea in their opinion. You must listen if they reveal idea about class and your learning. Their ideas can be a good reference for repair and improve your learning in class.

5. Don't show that you are the boss in class.
Yes I know, teacher is manager in class but in any case you aren't boss who can  act arbitrarily. What's more shows that teacher is the ruler in class. There will never be students like the teacher like that.
